It’s been a beautiful Autumn this year. The weather seems to be getting slightly warmer for longer each year.
This year, a full ten years in to our having begun work on landscaping the backyard as a clean slate, we saw our scrawny little red maple drop enough incredibly brilliant red leaves to blanket our backyard. It was a solid week or more of very beautiful colour.
On one of my bike rides, I caught this poignant image of three generations of ladies taking a last dip in Georgian Bay for the year on an unusually warm day.
And we started walking with Grace during her visits this year along the Pretty River, which was a good introduction for her.
My buddy, Tom came up for a visit, and we hiked along Standing Rock Caves, Duncan Caves and Old Baldy, where we were treated to some spectacular autumn colours in the Beaver Valley.
These are three excellent hikes so if you are in the area, get out for the day and go hiking.
One of our quirkier days spent this autumn was a visit to Marion Bartlett’s sculpture garden in Singhampton, a three-acre estate of gardens and forest with large, eclectic art installations.
And we got in a walk up on the top of Blue Mountain, where we haven’t been for a while. Gorgeous views overlooking Georgian Bay and Collingwood.
That’s it. Just a quick post for Autumn mostly to show the photos.
