We had told the same story 500 times by now…
How had we ended up running a five star resort in Belize was always the question.
So one night, I winked at Yim and started off down the plot line of our boat having sunk 22 miles offshore while being chased by Honduran bandits and for some reason, they could not find us in the dark after we lost our sailboat and sailed right by us as we scrambled ashore to await daybreak and had been there ever since.
Yim would stare at me with big eyes and try and pick up my ever-changing story line with good humour.
Often, we would both start to laugh together. Guests usually got it quickly and we’d explain that we had this little game we played with each other since we had been asked the same question so often… then we’d tell our story… again.
